Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy, or PEMF, is used to support the body’s natural healing process by stimulating damaged or unhealthy cells. The therapy is intended to improve blood flow, oxygenation, and cellular nutrition while helping the body clear waste products from the treatment area. For appropriate patients, the goal is improved healing, reduced inflammation, less pain, and better function.

Important cautions
PEMF is not appropriate if you have a pacemaker or implanted device such as a defibrillator, brain stimulator, muscle stimulator, insulin pump, or pain pump. PEMF should not be used with DVT because of clot embolization risk. If you use blood thinners, have a recent organ transplant, receive immunosuppressive therapy, or have low blood pressure, tell us before treatment so we can review fit and safety.
Possible side effects
Possible mild headache, fatigue, nausea, mild dizziness, or temporary dizziness if you have low blood pressure.
Preparation and aftercare
Tell us about implanted devices, blood thinners, DVT history, organ transplant history, immunosuppressive therapy, and low blood pressure before treatment.
