Overview
Cold Laser Therapy applies low-power laser energy to the surface of the body. Unlike high-power lasers used to cut or destroy tissue, cold lasers are used to stimulate cell function and support the body’s repair process. The treatment is non-invasive and painless, with the goal of promoting tissue repair, decreasing inflammation, improving blood flow and oxygen use, and reducing pain.

Important cautions
Avoid tattooed skin because pigment may interact with the laser. Treatment should not be applied over skin cancer or the thyroid gland. If you are pregnant or have a bleeding disorder, tell us before treatment. The brochure notes that laser therapy is not contraindicated for pacemakers, implants, screws, or other implanted devices because it does not heat or vibrate metal.
Possible side effects
Possible bleeding, pain, skin irritation, itching at the treatment site, eye injury from misdirected light, or burns from excessively intense light.
